I have been working with a wide range of investment banks, central banks, inter-dealer brokers and fund mangers since 1999.
I am fortunate enough to be able to provide training across various levels, asset classes, types of client and geographic location. This includes a mix between exam related training and non-exam.
My exam training started with courses in FSA (then SFA) regulations as well as securities and derivatives which made up the then SFA Registered Representative qualification. This qualification has changed its name over time and is now part of the CISI Certificate suite of qualifications. In addition to these courses I also teach across various levels of the CFA programme, specialising in level II.
I also deliver a wide variety of technical finance courses. These can range from large, graduate programmes that last for many weeks and cover all asset classes, to highly selective and focused courses that last just a day and are based on a specific client requirement. For example, recently a client needed to improve the economic understanding of its fixed income sales team so I devised a series of short, twilight courses to be run at the end of the trading day on the meaning behind economic indicators.
In addition to teaching I am also responsible for overseeing tutor development and recruitment. This involves conducting regular skills audits and information sharing exercises to ensure we remain up to date with our market knowledge.
Prior to joining 7city I worked for another financial training company and in particular I was the director in charge of the tutor faculty.
Before working in the financial markets I worked as a teacher, specialising in economics and mathematics.
My first degree was in Economics and I am a CFA Charterholder.
