Louise Shepherd

I have been involved in training for over ten years. Currently, my main focus at 7city is as head of RDR solutions, working with a number of private wealth managers to design solutions to meet the new FSA professional standards for the Retail Distribution Review. I am also the lead tutor for Private Client Investment Advice and Management (PCIAM), as well as being responsible for material design and production. In the past few years, 7city has become the lead provider of tuition in this area and I take great pride in the quality of our PCIAM courses.

Last year, I led a project to enhance our CFA Level I offering, extending the depth and quality of resources available to CFA candidates. We have a large CFA faculty at 7city, allowing us to make continuous improvements to our CFA product. I love teaching the CFA program and am involved in delivering both public and in-house courses for clients.

One of my first roles at 7city involved structuring graduate benchmark exam courses for many of the major investment banks. Innovation in this area resulted in a market-leading pass rate. Subsequently, our clients benefited from lower costs, a reduction in post-exam administration and speedier transition of graduates from training to desk.

Prior to 7city, my career began at Coopers and Lybrand, where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Being an ACA provides a thorough financial education and I worked with a wide range of clients, including financial services firms, major retailers and property companies. I worked at Andersen during the Enron era as a chartered tax advisor: a truly unforgettable experience. After Andersen, I spent a couple of years as tax manager for a large US pharmaceutical company with a broad role including employee benefits and transfer pricing.
