I have worked with investment banking and private equity clients to design, develop and deliver integrated, hands-on training programmes over the last 18 years.
At 7city I head up the financial modelling team. We have a strong training team with enormous experience in training all elements of the financial community in how to get the most from Excel and the wonders of creating and reviewing robust financial models. However, I also develop client specific models and review client created models. This gives me great insight into what is current and what are the typical practical problems facing clients. We can then use this experience to continually redefine our financial modelling training offering.
I have recently worked on a private equity sponsored financing model, helping to develop the model and then implement it within the firm. The project was driven by the requirement to build a flexible and efficient way of assessing the suitability of a target business for buyout purposes. The model needed to cope with different qualities of information, adding quarterly analysis and flexing the operating and financing structures before creating a standard set of outputs suitable for the investment committee.
My technical specialisms lie in modelling, valuation and accounting and analysis. These are the core skills for many bankers and so I have a busy summer delivering courses to new recruits across the world. Much of the rest of my year at 7city is spent building and maintaining client relationships, developing new training offerings and co-authoring “The Complete Investment Banker”, together with my financial modelling role.
Away from 7city, I have been involved in various financing projects in the property, retail and manufacturing sectors.
