As Head of Benchmark qualifications, I manage the development of 7city's training programmes towards the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) certificates, Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) and Investment Advice Diploma (IAD), as well as the CFA UK Investment Management Certificate (IMC). This includes ensuring that the materials and courses are up to date and accurately reflect the information covered in the examinations.
I joined 7city in 2005, and over that time, I have taught towards the full range of benchmark regulatory qualifications, including the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) compliant qualifications, such as the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD). I also get involved in bespoke product courses, including teaching a course taking a regulatory view on writing research recommendations for retail clients.
Prior to joining 7city, I taught for 12 years within the UK and Spain, having gained a BA (hons) degree at Staffordshire University and a post graduate certificate in education (PGCE) at Reading University. During this time, I held several responsibilities including senior teaching positions and also performed the role of moderator for Cambridge University's IGCSE examinations and the International Baccalaureate.
Most recently, I have been ensuring that retail advisers who still need to meet the RDR requirements have the necessary level of understanding to pass the higher level of qualification by the end of the year. In the near future, I am looking to add new higher-level qualifications to our current offering to improve the quality and choice of our regulatory papers.
