Assigned CFA Program Curriculum
Written by CFA Institute these readings are comprehensive and the sole source for exam questions. They are included as part of your CFA exam registration fee, so no additional purchase is necessary. They are full of real world practical examples and written by some of the most respected academics in the field. The CFA Program 2012 Curriculum is available as an eBook and you can purchase the eBook when you register with the CFA Institute. We recommend that you get the electronic and hard copy versions.
For the majority of students they want some form of additional study material to supplement the curriculum.

We help you, through our personalised CFA study plan, to allocate your time efficiently and focus on the right things at the right time. Your study plan will alert you to areas where you may be falling behind. The study planner outlines each study session, reflects your progress and understanding of Learning Outcome Statements (LOS) and releases extra course-related content to you in line with your study schedule.

We dedicate more than 240 days per year to updating our CFA course materials and question banks across the three levels. Summary notes, PowerPoint slides, useful diagrams and tables are all provided in this portable course Slide Pack, which is distributed in class if you choose a classroom course or available to download online for virtual learners. With easy cross-referencing to the LOS, we ensure that navigation to greater detail is simple.
For the June 2012 sitting, level I has seen the greatest change, with a number of readings being removed from the Financial reporting and analysis section. The biggest change is in the Economics section though. This has been extensively re-written meaning substantial changes in the material.
There are fewer changes to level II and III. There have been a number of deletions from the syllabus at Level II with the only addition being a new reading on Hedge Funds. For level III, the Behavioural finance study session has been entirely re-written.
Your choice of additional study materials
To supplement the assigned CFA program curriculum, there are many publishers offering exam preparation material designed to focus specifically on LOS. One of the most popular is Schweser, which you can purchase along with your 7city cFA course. It is excellent at summarising the Institute material and is produced by a US company so uses language similar to that used in the exam.
