Who takes the ACOR?
The ACOR provides a post-IAQ or IOC career path for operations, IT and administration staff who wish to develop their managerial, professional and technical skills. It enables you to demonstrate a practical understanding of the operational risk environment and is designed to reflect current issues.
Why enroll in the ACOR?
The ACOR is a valuable qualification if you work in administration or operations in the financial services industry and you wish to hold a senior level within the firm. It is suitable for those working in both wholesale and retail areas of the business. The ACOR exams have the support of professional risk organisations and are developed in conjunction with senior practitioners from the major operations sectors ensuring the qualification is topical, relevant and tailored to reflect current market issues. Once you've passed the ACOR you will qualify for Associate status with the CISI and after three years, you will be eligible for membership (MSI) status.
What's on the syllabus?
The ACOR has two modules:
- Module 1 - Operational Risk
- Module 2 - Advanced Operational Risk
Are there any pre-requisites?
Before embarking on the ACOR, it is recommended that you've either:
- Completed the IAQ or IOC
- Completed one of the CISI Certificates in Investment
- Completed a qualification recognised by the CISI as equivalent
- Have at least 18 months' industry experience at a comparable level
How much work is required?
Module 1 takes about 6 weeks to complete. Module 2 takes between 4 - 6 months.
When are the exams?
Module 1 is examined via computer based testing and exams take place throughout the year. Module 2 is a case study based exam and can be sat in June or December. More detail.
